Chicks
Chicks are the baby birds of certain species, which differ from nestlings regarding their independence. From the very first moment of their lives, chicks can open their eyes, walk and even find food all thanks to their parents guidance.
Chicks are independent but do need their parents to keep them from danger and help them stay warm at night.
Most chick's nests are on the ground so it's very likely to find them on the ground-that's where they're belong!
If you think you have found an orphaned chick, please take extra time to observe him/her from afar, the parents are most likely in the area.
